# Label Studio — Free Online Label Maker

Extract the BULK66 website ZIP and open `index.html` or `label-studio.html` in Edge or Chrome. Keep all the files and the `vendor/` directory together. No installation, hosting, account or internet connection is needed. Label Studio appears immediately after Converter in the navigation.

## Layouts

There are 75 editable structural layouts: five arrangements in each of 15 categories. Categories cover product, food and drink, cosmetics, stickers, addresses, shipping, barcodes, QR codes, files and folders, binder spines, supermarket shelves, retail price tags, sales, warehouses and printable price signs. These are real text and shape elements, not flattened images. Start from scratch creates a blank 100 × 60 mm label.

Choose a category and a preview. Text, prices, descriptions, colours, borders and image placeholders remain editable. Layouts are starting points; add any required product information yourself. Shipping layouts do not purchase postage or generate carrier credentials.

## Editor

- Select an element on the canvas or in Layers. Drag to move, drag the bottom-right handle to resize, and drag the top handle to rotate. Hold Shift while rotating for 15° increments.
- Use the selected-element fields for exact position, size and rotation. Alignment buttons align an element to the label. Pink centre guides appear when dragging near the label centre.
- Text supports wrapping, four system fonts, font size, regular/bold weight, colour and alignment. Text that overflows its box blocks export until you enlarge the box or reduce the font size.
- Add rectangles, ellipses and borders. Change their fill, stroke, corner radius and opacity. Layers are shown top first; move elements forward/backward, duplicate or delete them.
- Upload or drop PNG, JPG or WebP images. Select a placeholder and choose Replace image. Show whole image preserves the original proportions. Crop to fill enables crop zoom and horizontal/vertical crop position. Use Show whole image for uploaded barcode images.
- Built-in QR, Code 128 and EAN-13 generators use the bundled barcode encoder. EAN-13 calculates a missing check digit and rejects an incorrect supplied digit. Quiet zones and proportions are preserved. Barcodes too small, too pale, transparent or clipped by the label are rejected on export. Uploaded barcode images are ordinary images: avoid cropping or covering their quiet zones and check the printed result.
- Undo/redo retains up to 35 editing steps. With focus outside a text field, arrow keys nudge a selected element by 0.5 mm (Shift: 5 mm), Delete removes it, and Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z undo/redo. Zoom affects only the editor view.

## Physical sizes and downloads

Choose a popular label size, A3/A4/A5/A6, or custom width and height in mm, cm or inches. Choose landscape/portrait and rectangle, square, circle or oval. Changing size scales the existing elements. Square and circular labels keep equal sides. Check the layout after changing its aspect ratio.

PNG and JPG downloads contain DPI metadata and pixel dimensions calculated from the label's physical dimensions. Circle/oval PNG corners are transparent; JPG corners are white. PDF pages use the exact selected millimetre dimensions, with artwork rasterised at the selected DPI. All exports are free of watermarks. PDF is intended for printing; use the project file for editable design data.

## Printable sheets

Repeat the current label on A4 or A3 in portrait or landscape. Set rows, columns, margins, horizontal/vertical gaps, grid alignment and total quantity. Fit rows & columns calculates a grid that fits. Preview each page. Extra copies continue on following sheets, while each label retains its exact size. Optional rectangular cut guides can be included.

Download a multipage PDF or open Print sheets. Choose Actual size / 100%; disable Fit to page, browser headers and footers. The tool does not compensate for a printer's non-printable edges. Test one sheet before printing many copies.

## Save and reopen

Save locally stores one design in this browser's local storage, only when clicked. Restore local save restores it. Browser storage has a quota; if an image-heavy project does not fit, download its project file instead. Clearing browser storage removes that local save.

Download project produces a `.label.json` file including editable elements, embedded images and sheet settings. Open project restores it. Keep this file if you want to continue editing later. Uploaded images are decoded and normalised locally; remote image URLs, SVG uploads and scripts in projects are not accepted. No images or designs are uploaded to a server.

## Limits and integration

Label dimensions: 10–600 mm. Imported images are automatically resized to a 2,400-pixel working edge without a source-megapixel rejection. No upload or sheet-count quotas. Sheets must fit their selected paper geometry.

No new libraries were added for Label Studio. It reuses the bundled BWIPP/bwip-js encoder, pdf-lib and PDF Studio's base stylesheet. The editor is plain JavaScript and SVG. For WordPress, copy the complete static folder and embed `label-studio.html` in an iframe, or enqueue its assets in a custom template. The iframe approach keeps styles isolated. See THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt for library licences.

## Testing

26 browser test groups passed: all 75 layouts validate and rasterise at the expected dimensions; project round-trips; PNG/JPG metadata; circular transparency; PDF dimensions; A4/A3 sheet placement; independent decoding of generated QR, Code 128 and EAN-13; invalid-code rejection; crop output; unsafe project input rejection; and export limits. Production UI checks covered price editing, undo/redo, mouse move/resize/rotate, image upload, custom inch dimensions, local save after reload, project download/reopen, individual PDF and multipage sheet downloads. Mobile layout was inspected at 390 px. Physical printer output was not tested.

The automated browser blocks direct `file://` navigation, so browser tests used a temporary localhost server. The delivered app uses relative classic scripts and bundled assets, without a runtime server dependency.
