# Barcode Studio

Open `barcode-studio.html` in a current desktop browser. Keep `vendor/` alongside it. No installation, internet connection or upload service is needed. Navigation connects it to the converter and PDF Studio.

## Create and customise

Choose a tile, enter content and adjust the physical width, bar height, colours, margin, caption, rotation and resolution. Matrix proportions and quiet zones are protected. Missing retail check digits are calculated; incorrect supplied digits are rejected. GS1 input uses `(AI)` prefixes. Choose Verify scan to independently decode the rendered result.

QR tools include plain text, URLs, email, SMS, Wi-Fi, vCard contacts, events and HTTPS payment links. Logos force high error correction and require a successful scan before export. Frames decorate the outside of the quiet zone; modules are not distorted. Presets store design settings only in this browser. Undo/redo retains up to 30 changes. Content and uploaded logos are not saved automatically.

PNG and JPG contain the selected DPI metadata. SVG is vector output. PDF uses the selected physical dimensions and a raster image at the selected DPI. Transparent PNG/SVG backgrounds are supported; JPG/PDF use white. Clipboard availability depends on browser permissions. Print at Actual size / 100%, without browser headers and footers.

## Label sheets and scanning

Repeat the current barcode on A4, A5, Letter or custom paper. Set label dimensions, gaps, margins, rows, columns, quantity and alignment. Preview any sheet before downloading a multipage PDF. Codes retain their exact size; labels too small for the code are rejected. Dashed guides do not print unless outlines are explicitly enabled.

The scanner accepts image files or a device camera. Camera access needs browser permission and a compatible secure context. Image scanning remains available when camera access is unavailable. Decoded links are displayed as text and never opened automatically.

## Supported scope

32 enabled generator tools cover QR, EAN-13/EAN-8, UPC-A/UPC-E, Code 128/39/93, ITF/ITF-14, Codabar, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec, Micro QR, GS1-128/DataMatrix/QR/DataBar, SSCC, generic tracking labels, ISBN/ISSN, GS1 healthcare and HIBC primary data. Carrier labels, postal formats and bank-specific payment schemes are not included because their specialist dimensions, credentials or validation are outside this tool. Creating a symbol does not assign a GS1 identifier or certify a regulated label. Test a printed sample on the intended reader.

Barcode contents must fit the selected encoding standard. There are no image-megapixel or export-size rejection thresholds. Scan images and logos are automatically resized for their purpose. No bulk generation or CSV import.

## WordPress

Copy this HTML, CSS, JavaScript and `vendor/` together into a static folder. Embed `barcode-studio.html` in an iframe using a Custom HTML block. No WordPress backend or conversion endpoint is needed. Allow camera/clipboard permissions only if those features are wanted in the iframe. See THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt for bundled libraries.

## Verification

43 browser engine checks passed, including independent decoding of all 32 generators, invalid input rejection, logo QR, rotations, PNG/JPG DPI and PDF geometry. The production UI was used to download PNG and a three-page label PDF and decode that PNG through the uploaded-image scanner. Undo/redo and live updates were checked. Camera hardware and physical printers were not available for automated testing. Browser testing used localhost because the preview tool blocks `file://`; runtime dependencies are bundled classic scripts with embedded scanner WASM.
